"I am tainted, calloused and enlightened. The title ‘Unspoken Language’ is pretty straightforward. No convoluted, heady, hidden messages. These painting are visual, nonverbal stories or metaphors expressing everyday common emotions or experiences such as pain, loss, hope or joy. I choose to communicate these experiences/stories via the medium and physical act of painting. In my painting I do not commit to abstract expressionism, biomorphic abstraction or abstract figuration but use these genres of art as tools to compose my own language." (Chris D. Smith)
